Why people use it

Research that used to take an afternoon, before the coffee is cold.

Prep

Open with what’s new

A new CEO, a bond raise, a lawsuit settled — the brief surfaces it in the first paragraph, so your first sentence lands.

Trust

Nothing you can’t point to

Every sentence carries the filing date and a link to the document on sec.gov. Forward it to a client as-is.

Scale

Your whole account list

Run it on one company before a meeting, or on fifty every Monday. Same price per brief either way.

How it works

Three steps. No setup.

The brief reads from the events feed, so the two Actors work as a pair: the feed gathers the filings, the brief writes them up.

1

Load the company’s filings

Run SEC Event Intelligence once on the company — paste its SEC number (the CIK) and, if you like, the ticker. It reads the last twelve months of filings and keeps them current.

2

Run the brief

Same company, one click. The brief is written from those filings only and tells you when they were last checked against the SEC.

3

Read, or plug it in

Open the brief on Apify, download it, or send it to your CRM, a Slack channel or an AI agent — it’s a plain document with links.

Pricing

Pay per brief. Nothing monthly.

Apify bills usage to your account; there’s a free tier to try it on.

Bring your own key

US$0.35per brief
  • Uses your Anthropic or OpenAI key
  • Same brief, same citations
  • A no-AI mode lists the cited facts without prose

The feed that loads the filings, SEC Event Intelligence, is US$0.008 per event.

Questions

The short answers.

Which companies does it cover?

Any company that files 8-Ks with the SEC — that’s every US-listed public company. Private companies and most foreign filers don’t file 8-Ks, so there’s nothing to brief.

How current is it?

The brief says when the company’s filings were last checked against the SEC. If that’s more than a day old, run SEC Event Intelligence on the company again first — it re-checks on request, at most once a day — then re-run the brief.

Is it accurate?

The facts come straight from the filings and each sentence links to its source, so you can verify anything in one click. The prose is written by the AI from those facts only — it can’t add something the company didn’t file.

Do I need to be technical?

No. Apify gives you a form: paste the companies, press Start, open the result. Developers can call the same thing from code or schedule both Actors to run back to back.

Who built this?

BuildOn Marketplaces, a small studio that builds tools for marketplaces in public. The build log shows how it’s made and where it stands on the Apify Store.
